In the today’s music, it is hard to ever come with something original. But I must say, The Magnificent Ruffians did it! There are many aspects to being a dope rhymer. Of course being able to write a good song is important but what many people tend to forget is the ability to freestyle is also needed to be a real emcee. It is that “real” feel that a lot of rappers are missing today. Magnificent Ruffians wanted to bring you an album with no rules, no 16 bar standards, no one saying our song has to be under 3 minutes, no clean versions for radio stations, no adlibs… just raw hip-hop shit! So, I was just checking my emails and stumbled on this interview with “Magnificent Ruffians” and “Fat Cap Magazine” which I think was pretty eye opening. Ever since I was exposed to “Magnificent Ruffians” I knew they were talented. After reading the interview I have gained a whole new respect for the “Magnificent Ruffians” and what they are trying to do with their music.

I don’t want to get into too much detail because the interview does that in itself, so take a some time, read the interview… You will see a few videos and gain some insight into the Hip-Hop community and what it means to the Ruffians.

This is a music video that I just recently filmed and just finished the final upload. The group called themselves, Magnificent Ruffians. We shot at a neigborhood park in Colton, CA and they asked a few friends to be extras in the video. There was a decent turn out which made the footage a bit better. Anyway, The song is called “Nothin New” and it features Noa James. Check it out and leae comments. Enjoy!

Come down and check out Freestyle Fest 2009. It’s a “free” all day event that starts at 12pm and goes to 7pm. The event is out doors as well so check the weather channel and bring sun screen and as they say, “No Writtens!”
