Yesterday, I got the final word from Filth that he added the final emcee to the project. We are now looking at the final stretch and are in the middle or record tracks, editing, arranging and mixing everything. If all goes well, we should have Earthtones 2 ready to drop on February 1, 2010. This project has taken an unexpected turn for the better.
It started out just going to be an instrumental CD with beats from Filth and myself but, it has grown into something much bigger. We have some new names for you to learn and some names of those who have been in the game for sometime now putting in work. We are pleased to announce the following artists on the Earthtones 2 Album:
Last night, I finally got a chance to watch “Free The Robots” perform live at the Mission Tobacco Lounge, and was amazed with the set. The music was chest pounding even though the speakers kept blowing out (this was a house issue, not “Free The Robots”). Was it the pounding bass knocking the cables loose? Know one will ever know. All I know is that “Free The Robots” has talent!
I was amazed how hype the room got last night when “Free The Robots” hit the stage and the music started. Everyone was dancing and enjoying themselves and the energy was crazy. “Free The Robots” performed some older songs and some new songs from the next album to be released shortly. Stay tuned for details. Also, I shot some video last night of part of the set, probably about 15 minutes worth and am currently working on getting it ready to share on the web. Stay tuned for that. I would highly” recommend any and all music lovers, young and old to check out “Free The Robots” and buy some of their music. You wont be disappointed! Check them out on iTunes, just do a search for “Free The Robots.”

On May 9th 2009 I went to a dope underground hip-hop event hosted by DJ Ickee in San Bernardino, CA to support Swift Dixshun, Mando The DJ, AfterDark and DJ Ethos while they rocked their set out of an industrial garage. The setting was pretty dope… It really had that raw underground hip-hop feel. Their were a lot of really dope underground groups performing such as: Red Eye (featuring Kelley Mak & Paradox), Noa James (with DJ C’Est la vie), Stevie Crooks, Nick Fury, Relative Patients, Annunaki Bloodline, AfterDark (with DJ Ethos), Info:Discard, Simple Thoughts, Wackoe & Melissa .B, Tha Nothing, Do Gooders, Swift Dixshun (with Mando The DJ), Dialect & Reflect, Kid Presentable and Grand Angel.
Here is some video I took of Swift Dixshun & Mando The DJ and AfterDark & DJ Ethos. Enjoy and please feel free to leave comments.
Swift Dixshun & Mando The DJ
In this video Swift Dixshun and Mando The DJ put down a dope set with Decibel, Obsurd1der and the Magnificent Ruffians. Watch for the new album dropping soon, “Accidentally on Purpose.”
In this video, AfterDark and DJ Ethos put it down with songs from AfterDark’s new album, “AfterDark Dominates Dialect.” Read my album review here: A.D.D. Album Review.
Here is a short video I took from the premiere at The Crosby on March 26, 2009. The event was hosted by The Crosby and Chris [from The Crosby & Free The Robots] and Don Froth mixed some dope sets with a lot of energy. I have been meaning to get to The Crosby for some time now and I am glad that I finally did. The spot has a great vibe and I agree that it is one of a kind. One of the places to go to have a good time and listen to some great music! Check out the video… It’s not much but you’ll get to see Don Froth and Chris on the mix, a bit of The Crosby and some 3V stuff:
Also, head over to the 3V website which is: www.wewillconquer.com and check out what they are all about. I digg the designs and I wish the best for them. Please show your support. I am sure you will like the clothing line and the artwork in the site is mind blowing. Check out Brad’s artist page. Some really good work! Keep it up 3V and I am here to support you guys anyway that I can!
