He strives to keep his music honest, as honest as a hard days work. Writing lyrics and spoken word since he was 10, he became a producer out of sheer necessity. Now you can catch him spewing random non sense influenced by the likes of Sole, El-P, 2mex, Rakim, Aesop Rock and many many more. A lyricist in every sense of the word, he attempts to intertwine social commentary,environmental awareness, and political mumbo jumbo with blatant drug and alcohol and an existentialist frame of thought.

    MORBDILY-O-BEATS

    Morbdily-O-Beats also known as M.O.B is a hip-hop producer out of Chicago IL. His weapon of choice is the MPC 2000xl, but he also uses a dr. sample sp-303, Kaoss pad KP3, Mico Korg, and Korg Elcetribe esx1. On any given day you can find him in the lab choppin dusty records into what he calls gutter funk, or at the local record store diggin for found sounds and dollar bin deals. Morbid started out as a rapper in 2000 but decided to focus more on production when he bought his first MPC in late 2003. Morbid still raps occasionally under the moniker J.Harles although he prefers to be behind the scenes cookin up beats for other rappers. In 2009 M.O.B and G.C.S (GreenCarpetedStairs) put out the album Dirty Pretty Ugly Sh*t. M.O.B handled the drums on the album and also added vocals to two of the tracks. Morbid also works very closely with Hoot AKA 13th Day. They have worked together since the very begging. M.O.B is currently working on multiple projects such as an album with rapper Kid Presentable!!!, an album with Hoot aka 13th Day, and a solo album.

Sleeps Numb is a dreamer. His fingers paint pictures that are stuck in limbo. Somewhere between Psych-Rock, Ambient and Hip-hop Beats is where this man makes his home. His music paints ethereal landscapes that borrow from his surroundings. A current resident of San Diego, CA it is not uncommon to here a crashing wave or a sea bird in the distance as the beat comes in. Ever since I was exposed to “Magnificent Ruffians” I knew they were talented. After reading the interview I have gained a whole new respect for the “Magnificent Ruffians” and what they are trying to do with their music.
