Nonsense of the Akronymz (www.akronymz.com) and DJ Darkside (www.djdarkside.com) came together to create Nonsense’s first solo album ‘Better Late Then Never.’ The album has a vast array of styles that are not typical for a hip-hop album. It’s a fresh new sound and taps into the likes of all music lovers from all genre’s. “I wanted to do something different and have a new sound with a new approach,” said Nonsense. And that is just what this album has, raw underground hip-hop fuzed with uptempo club dance tracks and everything between.

A man that never rests, if I have ever met any… Filth is definitely one of them. Always putting in work where it is relevant and always bringing us good new music to bump. I am proud to have been a part of this project from start to finish. Cakewalk announced four dedicated channels for your viewing pleasure. CakeTV will continue to expand and grow until it’s an autonomous, sentient being bent on human destruction. Until then here’s a rundown of what’s currently showing.
First and foremost is SONAR University where you can dip your toes or dive head-first into a sea of SONAR knowledge. It’s divided into three courses. Get Started will familiarize you with basic operation and Go Deeper will take you further into how certain features can be applied. When you’re ready for more, the Master Class offers a comprehensive tour of SONAR’s workflow as it relates to a particular aspect of music production.
The Artist Spotlight channel has the latest information on how the pro’s use Cakewalk products and Backstage Pass gives a behind the scenes look at the various trade shows and events Cakewalk participates in all over the globe.

When is the last time you actually bought a hip-hop album? I’m not talking about Jay Z, or Drake or some other artist you don’t even know personally. I’m talking about a real, raw, 100% hip hop album from some underground cats just trying to eat?
If it was so long ago that you can’t even remember then please, break out of the matrix and buy the “Individuality” album! It’s only $9.99 on iTunes and even less on Amazon. $9.99 are your serious? Get up off the computer and go in the ash tray of your car and pull out some change.

It’s sad what the world has come to today, people have no value for music anymore. I remember when I was just a kid I used to go with my brother to a place in Orange County called “The CD Listening Bar.” It was an awesome place for music lovers. It was basically a bar but, instead of serving drinks, they served you head phones with your choice of a CD from their huge selection. You would sit on a bar stool and have access to a control to adjust the volume and change the tracks. The idea was to sit and listen to a CD before you bought it. Then you could walk around the store and look at posters, clothing and other merchandise. It was a great time for music.
Now, everyone wants music for free from torrent sites or usually pay and download directly from iTunes or another music distribution site. This takes the whole experience out of going out into the world, meeting new people, finding new music and enjoying the overall experience. The average listener want artists to drop new albums all the time but seem to forget, in most cases artists have to pay for studio time and producers pay for their equipment… It’s a costly business and we as artists need your support to keep bringing you good music. I also think it is very important for our generation to put back the fun and love into music previous generations once had. Just like a DJ loves his vinyl or an audiophile loves his high quality speakers, we should put the love and excitement back into our overall music experience. I think we need more music stores that cater to the music lover and give us a place to gather and experience new music.
It is going to be pretty interesting to see what the future holds for us and the music we create and the way the consumer find and treats our music. Right now, I see music in the eye of the consumer as being a disposable item. They buy it, listen to it for a few days or weeks over and over, get sick of it and then move on to the next “big thing” and the cycle repeats itself. What happened to the days of sitting in your room listening to music, reading the album credits and lyrics and enjoying the album cover artwork. It was a physical activity that has now been taken away by things like iPods and Zune’s, etc… I am not saying those things are bad but, taking the experience out of enjoying music is. If you are a music lover and want to help keep the experience alive, join me and let’s put our heads together and revive what’s left of our music culture before it becomes robotic.
